Traditional Leaders and Church Groups Unite to Cleanse Seke Road

In a bid to restore safety and rid the area of negative energies, traditional leaders and church groups in Zimbabwe have performed cleansing rituals along Seke Road. The move comes in response to a recent surge in serious accidents on the busy route, which has left locals concerned about the safety of the road.

The ceremonies, which involved traditional and spiritual leaders, aimed to purify the area and bring peace to the road. Locals hope that the rituals will help reduce the number of accidents and prevent further tragedies.

While some people welcomed the initiative, others pointed out that road design and engineering may also play a role in the accidents. Johnson Ncube, a social media user, noted that poor visibility and blind spots on the road can increase the risk of fatal mishaps, especially when combined with human error.

The news sparked a lively discussion on social media, with some users expressing skepticism about the effectiveness of the cleansing rituals. Others joked about the unusual combination of traditional and Christian rituals, with one user humorously remarking, “Never thought I’d see bute ne ndimi in one place but here we are.” Despite the differing opinions, the initiative has brought attention to the need for road safety and community
