Pregnant Zimbabwean Woman Denied Help, Collapses Outside South Africa Clinic Amid Mockery

In a deeply distressing event on Tuesday in Pretoria, a pregnant foreign woman in active labour was cruelly denied entry to a local clinic by members of the Dudula movement. Despite her desperate cries for help, she was turned away with harsh words telling her she did not belong there.

Left in excruciating pain, the woman collapsed on the pavement outside the clinic. Her screams and pleas for mercy went unanswered as she lay helpless. Instead of rushing to assist her, bystanders stood by ,some filming the ordeal on their phones, others laughing and mocking her, cruelly calling her “le kwerekwere,” a derogatory term targeting foreigners.

The scene was one of unimaginable humiliation. A mother bringing new life into the world was met not with compassion, but with scorn and ridicule. Her tears blended with the dust of the street as she fought to survive, while her newborn took its first breath in an atmosphere of neglect and hate rather than warmth and care.

This tragic incident lays bare the harsh realities faced by vulnerable individuals seeking help. No woman should endure such suffering in her moment of greatest need. No child should enter the world surrounded by cruelty and disdain.
