A Bulawayo couple, Darian-Lee Kevin Lloyd Jackson (31) and Lakin Lee Robinson (32), is set to appear in court today on charges related to possession of high-grade drugs. The couple was arrested on July 13 in the city centre following a tip-off, which led detectives from the CID Drugs and Narcotics unit to their West Somerton residence.
During the raid, police uncovered a stash of substances, including various strains of cannabis and other drugs. According to national police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi, the substances were found in the couple’s vehicle and later during a search at their home.
The investigation is ongoing, and police are working to determine the full extent of the alleged operation. Neighbours in the leafy West Somerton suburb expressed surprise at the allegations, stating that the couple seemed like ordinary residents.
The case has sent shockwaves through the community, with many residents calling for increased vigilance and cooperation with law enforcement to prevent similar incidents in the future. As the couple prepares to face the courts, police continue to gather evidence and build their case.
