A family in the Overspill area of Epworth is gripped by an unrelenting nightmare after a series of chilling attacks attributed to malevolent goblins locally known as ondofa, have left young women and girls terrorized, deaths unexplained, and the entire household paralyzed by fear.
The family, originally from Malawi, has endured a tragic cycle of loss and darkness for decades. Fraction Nota, the patriarch, died in 2000, followed by his wife, Menalla Pangeti Nota, in 2019. Their daughter, Agnes Nota, 54, recalls a once large family of 12 children, now reduced to only seven survivors. But the dwindling numbers tell only part of the story.
“We were 12, but now only seven remain,” Agnes whispered, her voice trembling. “People die young, one after another. This curse has infected husbands and grandchildren alike, chaining us in a never-ending cycle of dread and witchcraft.”
The past few years have been especially brutal. Since 2019 alone, six family members have died within one harrowing year. Agnes fears for the 52 grandchildren left behind, many of whom are under threat from a curse that targets young girls, while the boys face sinister attention from women possessed by dark forces. “Every time we ask for help, the answer is the same, family issues and goblins. But the truth is far darker,” she said.
One haunting chapter in the family’s history was the brutal killing of their brother, Patrick Nota, in Ruwa in 2006 by unknown assailants. Yet, the threats have become more sinister and supernatural. Women and girls in the household report being sexually attacked by invisible beings, forcing some to flee in desperation. With jobs scarce and strange expulsions from the home becoming common, the family’s fabric is unraveling.
Most recently, a sinister sign appeared, a bizarre multicolored ribbon tied around their father’s grave. To the family, this eerie symbol is a mark of the goblins’ continuing presence and wrath.
Friday Nota, 55, another son, confirmed the horrors. “When we buried our father, money and important items vanished mysteriously. Nobody controls the family’s finances anymore. We are haunted, chased by these evil spirits. Our daughters and sisters are cursed. People die in ways we cannot explain,” he confessed, eyes haunted by despair.
With no nearby relatives to turn to ,their lineage traced back to Boma, Malawi , the older generation now bears the heavy burden of confronting this dark legacy alone.
Adding to the misery, Loveness Nota, 41, shared her personal torment. She claims to be cursed , of her five husbands, three died mysteriously, and the other two abandoned her without explanation. “We suffer under this curse. Men fear to approach us now. Young girls in our family die mysteriously where these goblins lurk. We battle strange illnesses, unemployment, and invisible sexual assaults. We desperately need help,” she pleaded.
The curse’s shadow even extends to the roads, where repeated accidents have made family members too fearful to travel, convinced the goblins are behind these deadly mishaps.
Now, trapped in a nightmare of unseen forces and inexplicable tragedies, the family lives day-to-day in terror, begging for a way to break the deadly curse that has haunted them for generations and praying they survive the darkness that stalks them still.
