Zimbabwe Cracks Down on Crystal Meth Traffickers

In a significant operation conducted on May 14th in Harare, the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) arrested several individuals involved in the sale of crystal meth, a highly addictive and destructive drug. Known by various names such as “Guka Makafela,” “Mutoriro,” “Buwe,” or “Mujaguna,” crystal meth has ravaged the youth, particularly the unemployed, and contributed to a surge in crime rates across high-density areas.

The abuse of crystal meth has led to increased banditry and burglaries, sparking fear among residents. The ZRP has taken a firm stance against drug trafficking and abuse, urging spouses of drug victims to seek rehabilitation support. The police are also encouraging the public to report any suspicious activities related to drugs and narcotics to their nearest station.

The government’s efforts to combat drug abuse are crucial in addressing the social and economic challenges posed by this epidemic. By working together, communities can help protect the youth and restore safety in high-density areas. Reporting suspicious activities and supporting rehabilitation efforts are key steps in this fight against drug abuse.

Below is a list compiled by ZRP of people who are arrested dealing with drugs.
