Woman on the Run After Striking a 50-year-old With an Axe for Being Sexually Rejected .

Police in Bulawayo are currently probing a troubling attempted murder incident involving an 85-year-old caretaker who was assaulted with an axe by a woman. Reports indicate the attacker demanded sex and became violent after the caretaker refused her advances.

The attack took place at approximately 5 PM on Sunday, August 10, on a property located in Kensington, where the elderly man works. Bulawayo police spokesperson Inspector Nomalanga Msebele revealed that the female suspect, who is reportedly familiar to the victim, entered the caretaker’s quarters and made inappropriate sexual advances before attacking him.

During the assault, the victim suffered severe injuries, including a deep wound on the right side of his neck. Despite his injuries, he was able to alert the police and was subsequently transported to the hospital by ambulance. The suspect escaped immediately after the attack and is still being sought by the authorities.

In response, police have launched a search operation and are appealing to the public for any information that could help locate the woman. Inspector Msebele also urged the community to handle conflicts without resorting to violence, emphasizing the importance of peaceful dispute resolution.

The incident has caused alarm within the Kensington neighborhood, especially given the victim’s advanced age and the unexpected nature of the assault. Authorities continue to encourage anyone with relevant information to come forward at the nearest police station. Meanwhile, the victim remains under medical care, with his condition being closely observed.
