Vice President Constantino Chiwenga has delivered a stern warning to those involved in corrupt practices, stating that Zimbabwe’s economy cannot be rebuilt on “tender manipulation” and “unethical dealings.” Speaking at the Construction Industry Federation of Zimbabwe congress in Masvingo, Chiwenga emphasized the need for honesty, hard work, and professionalism in the construction industry.

This is not the first time Chiwenga has spoken out against corruption. In January, he warned that “corruption has to end,” describing those who profit from it as “leeches” who fatten themselves on ill-gotten wealth. Recently, he tabled a dossier before the politburo accusing several businessmen, including fuel tycoon Kudakwashe Tagwirei, of siphoning billions through patronage networks.

Chiwenga’s message is clear: Zimbabwe’s economy will be built on sacrifice, honesty, and hard work. His words have resonated with millions of Zimbabweans who are weary of impunity and economic sabotage. As the country works towards achieving its Vision 2030, Chiwenga’s anti-corruption stance is seen as a crucial step towards ensuring a brighter future for all Zimbabweans.

The construction industry plays a vital role in Zimbabwe’s economic development. By promoting honesty, hard work, and professionalism, the industry can contribute to the country’s growth and prosperity. Chiwenga’s call to action serves as a reminder of the importance of integrity in business and government.

For many Zimbabweans, Chiwenga’s words have become a rallying cry against corruption and impunity. As the vice president continues to lead the charge against graft, his message is clear , there will be no mercy for those who engage in corrupt practices.
