The Rangemore Robbers’ Wild Ride Ends in Court

In a shocking turn of events, the notorious Makumbi brothers, Enock and Roy, were sentenced to 35 years each in prison for their string of crimes that left Bulawayo residents shaken. The brothers, dubbed the “Brothers of Brutality,” were convicted of eight counts, including armed robbery, rape, and assault.

The brothers’ reign of terror began on November 1, 2024, and resumed in January with a flurry of violent incidents. They robbed, assaulted, and even raped their victims, leaving a trail of trauma and pain.

The magistrate handed down a hefty sentence, citing the brothers’ danger to society. The sentence breakdown was as follows:
– Count 1: 6 years
– Counts 2-4: 6 years each, to run concurrently
– Count 5 (Rape): 15 years
– Count 6 (Assault): 2 years
– Counts 7-8: 6 years each, to run concurrently
– Effective sentence: 35 years each

The victims took the stand, pouring out their pain and trauma. The rape survivor said she now lives in fear, while Vumani Thebe revealed that three of his fingers no longer function. Silent Dube can’t carry heavy items anymore, and Thandeka Siziba lost her client base as a hairdresser.

Roy denied everything, claiming he was in Gokwe, but couldn’t bring a single witness to support him. Enock, on the other hand, admitted to two counts but claimed the rest were forced upon him by police. Now, the brothers will spend 70 years behind bars, with their shackles echoing the cries of those they hurt.
