Police Officer Flees After Suspect’s Death

A police officer accused of brutally beating a suspect in custody, resulting in their death, has gone on the run to evade arrest. Constable Prince Ndavambi, stationed at Ruwa Police Station, allegedly tortured Blessed Believe Juruvenge, who was detained for passing a fake $100 note.

The circumstances surrounding Juruvenge’s death are disturbing, and the police’s failure to apprehend Ndavambi raises questions about accountability. National police spokesman Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed Ndavambi’s disappearance, assuring that the police will pursue justice.

“We urge the public to remain calm and cooperate with the investigation,” Nyathi said. The case highlights concerns about police brutality and the need for reform. Juruvenge’s family deserves answers, and the police must ensure justice is served.
