A man accused of raping a Grade Seven pupil in Harare’s Central Business District has claimed he’s physically incapable of the act due to a medical condition. Givemore Mutape, 25, told the court he’s missing t3sticles, making it impossible for him to engage in sexual activity.

Mutape’s defense team has requested a medical examination to support his claims. He denies being a tout, instead identifying as a car radio technician. On the day of the alleged incident, Mutape said he was fixing a radio in a kombi belonging to an associate, “Khule”.

The prosecution paints a different picture. According to the State, the 13-year-old student was assaulted on July 19 while trying to return home from collecting money for extra lessons. Mutape allegedly approached her, offered assistance, and led her to a parked kombi where the assault occurred.

Mutape claims mistaken identity, saying the girl was actually looking for a rank marshal, “Night Mashayamanja”, and he merely relayed a message on her behalf. The trial continues, with the court weighing Mutape’s medical claims against the State’s evidence .
