Ecobank Heist Suspect Caught in Botswana

In a shocking turn of events, Bhekani Milio, a 39-year-old man, was arrested in Botswana on July 14, 2025, for his alleged involvement in the $4 million Ecobank heist in Bulawayo. Because who wouldn’t want to vacation in Botswana with stolen cash?

Milio was trying to enter Botswana from South Africa, which raises questions about his travel plans. Was he looking for a spot of safaris or just trying to lay low? Meanwhile, two other suspects, Abraham Temayi Vumbunu and Elijah Temayi Vumbunu, were already caught in South Africa, leaving Milio to face the music alone.

The Zimbabwean police are working on extraditing Milio to face charges. Let’s hope he enjoys the scenic route back to Zimbabwe, courtesy of the authorities. The investigation is ongoing, and more suspects are expected to be apprehended.
