Tomeka, the wife of global music star Akon, has publicly revealed her decision to end their marriage amid a bitter custody and inheritance dispute. Speaking candidly, Tomeka expressed frustration that Akon has included his children from other relationships in his will, yet refuses to add her only child, Journey ,whom she had with him before their marriage.
“I have repeatedly asked for joint legal custody , shared decision making on education and health ,but primary physical custody of our daughter,” Tomeka explained. “Still, he refused.”
Despite her efforts to maintain a harmonious relationship with Akon’s other children, showering them with love and expensive gifts, Tomeka feels the marriage has become one-sided. She emphasized her respect for Akon’s polygamous lifestyle but said she can no longer continue under these conditions.
Declaring her intent to divorce, Tomeka has demanded a fair settlement from Akon’s reported $60 million fortune.
