Police Deploy Motorcycles to Combat Traffic Congestion and Crime in Harare CBD

In a bid to tackle rising traffic congestion and criminal activities in Harare’s Central Business District (CBD), the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has introduced 10 advanced motorcycles to enhance enforcement efforts. The motorcycles were officially handed over by Police Commissioner-General Stephen Mutamba as part of a broader strategy to restore order on the city’s roads.

These new motorbikes will enable officers to respond more swiftly to traffic violations, unruly behavior, and lawlessness within the CBD and on all major routes leading into Harare. Authorities are encouraging members of the public to report reckless driving by both private and public transport operators, so that appropriate legal action can be taken. This move underscores the police’s commitment to improving road safety and maintaining public order in the capital.
