Six-month-old Baby Involved In Lithium Battery Explosion

A maid was rushed to hospital following a life-threatening incident where a room was raised down by a burst of a lithium battery due to overcharging.

According to Bulawayo Fire Chief officer ‘Mhlamgano Moyo’  the battery exploded while the sleeping beauty was in her moment, the tragic explosion occured around midnight.

Bulawayo Fire Chief Office further stated that ‘the maid was badly burnt , she was sleeping with a six-month-old baby and they both inhaled a lot of smoke as the fire was concetrated in her room. The brigade ambulance rushed the two to the hospital.

Mr Moyo said property worth ZWG168 800 was destroyed by fire , while ZWG906 400 worth of property was saved by Nketa and Nkulumane rescue crew largely as a result of the prompt call to the brigade.
