A shocking incident has unfolded in Waterfalls, Harare, where a 34-year-old woman, Abigail Mukono Rusape, allegedly attempted to poison her 36-year-old husband, Ezra Rusape. According to reports, Abigail prepared a meal for her husband, lacing it with poison, but her plan backfired when Ezra discovered the suspicious smell and refused to eat more.

In a dramatic turn of events, Abigail then swallowed the same poison, and both are currently battling for life at separate hospitals in Chitungwiza. The incident occurred on Monday when Ezra returned home from work and noticed a strange smell in the food. After a heated argument, Abigail’s desperation led her to take a drastic measure.

Ezra’s instincts saved his life, as he stopped eating the food after noticing the unusual smell. However, having already consumed three spoons of rice, he began experiencing stomach pains and was rushed to the hospital.

 

Harare provincial police spokesperson Inspector Luckmore Chakanza confirmed the case, stating that Abigail has been arrested for attempted murder charges. Both Abigail and Ezra are currently receiving medical attention, and the police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
