Quinton Senior School is in mourning after the tragic loss of one of its students. The tragic death of 17-year-old Fortunate Maponga, a student who took her own life after learning she was pregnant.

According to close sources, Fortunate had confided in her boyfriend, Jayden Pikitai, revealing that she was expecting his child. He, Pikitai denied the pregnancy, leaving her feeling alone and overwhelmed.

The school has since issued a statement mourning the loss of a “bright and promising young woman,”. Community members are  requesting the  government to prioritize  the  introductory  of  mental health and support services for students facing emotional and personal challenges.

The news has left her loved ones in shock and grief.
