Tanzanian National Accused of Stealing from Motorist in Harare

Cassin Pascal Man’ombe, a Tanzanian national, appeared before Harare magistrate Tapiwa Kuhudzai on Monday, accused of stealing from a motorist. Man’ombe, who is allegedly in Zimbabwe illegally, is expected back in court as the State seeks a Swahili interpreter.

According to the State, Man’ombe broke into Kundai Singano’s car at Village Walk in Borrowdale on August 19. CCTV footage allegedly captured Man’ombe stealing a bag containing a silver Apple MacBook and eight Petrotrade Coupons. Man’ombe reportedly jumped into a Toyota Fortuner and sped off, with Singano giving chase on foot.

The State alleges that Man’ombe committed similar offenses in Mt Pleasant and along Samora Machel Avenue using the same Toyota Fortuner. The case is ongoing, with Man’ombe’s next court appearance pending.
