“Still My Husband” Drama: Man Seeks Protection Order Against Ex-Wife

In a bizarre case, Tapiwa Chasumba has approached the court seeking a protection order against his ex-wife, Margaret Mayemeka, who allegedly thinks their 13-year-old separation is just a minor detail. Chasumba claims Mayemeka insists they’re still married and demands regular intimacy, despite him having moved on and started a new family.

Chasumba told the court that Mayemeka’s actions are harassment and an attempt to disrupt his current life. “I’ve built a new life, and I won’t let her destroy it,” he said, adding that Mayemeka is trying to sabotage his current marriage. One wonders what kind of marital magic Mayemeka thinks she’s holding onto after all these years.

Mayemeka disputed Chasumba’s claims, calling them fabrications. She denied disturbing his peace or visiting his residence. It’s unclear what her endgame is here, but it’s definitely a dramatic twist.

The court granted Chasumba a protection order, with magistrate Meenal Narotam presiding over the case. Hopefully, this puts an end to Mayemeka’s alleged attempts to cling to a marriage that’s been over for over a decade.
