Scottland, the expensively-assembled team from Mabvuku, is finally hitting all the right notes! They’ve won five league matches in a row, and their latest victory was a dominating 5-2 thrashing of FC Platinum at Mandava Stadium.
The team’s new recruits, including Khama Billiat, Walter Musona, and Tymon Machope, have brought a new level of tenacity to the group. Warriors forward Terrence Dzvukamanja was instrumental in the win, with a penalty won and a crucial assist for Mafious Chihweta’s fourth goal.
The mid-season signings have been making waves, with Chihweta scoring and assisting, and Moses Shidolo netting two goals. Even Knowledge Musona, the former Warriors captain, got in on the action, making his local league debut for Scottland.
Tonderai Ndiraya, the coach, is thrilled with his team’s performance. “Depth is now coming into play,” he said. “We need to take each game as it comes, but we’re very eager to deliver the trophy home.”
FC Platinum coach Norman Mapeza admitted that Scottland’s firepower was too hot to handle. “Losing by such a huge scoreline is a first for me,” he said.
With 10 games remaining, Scottland is just a point behind leaders in the table. Can they keep their momentum going and bring the trophy home to Mabvuku?
