Sabotage Suspected in Guruve Council Office Fire

A devastating fire ravaged the Guruve Rural District Council planning office, sparking concerns of foul play. The Zimbabwe Republic Police’s forensic unit investigated the scene and discovered remnants of explosives, including used power fuse cables. This finding suggests possible sabotage, leaving authorities to probe deeper into the incident.

The planning office housed vital records on land sales, usage, and ownership, which were destroyed in the blaze. The loss of these documents will likely hinder development projects in the area. Guruve Rural District Council Chairperson Alderman Fadson Mandaza expressed concern over the setback, emphasizing the need to identify those responsible.

The police are working diligently to uncover the truth behind the fire. Mashonaland Central Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Honourable Christopher Magomo, visited the scene, stressing the importance of bringing perpetrators to justice. The investigation aims to determine whether the fire was an isolated incident or part of a larger scheme.
