ZESA has appointed new leaders to steer the company forward. Albert Joel Nduna has taken over as interim board chairman, while Cletus Nyachowe serves as acting CEO. This change comes after the passing of Dr. Sydney Gata and the abolition of the executive chairmanship role.
Albert Joel Nduna, previously vice chairman of ZESA’s board, now serves as interim chairman. Cletus Nyachowe, a veteran engineer, brings a strong background in electronic and electrical engineering to his new role. Nyachowe holds a BSc Honours degree and an MBA from the University of Zimbabwe and previously led Powertel, a ZESA subsidiary.
According to Fortune Sambo, ZESA’s executive director for human capital, the new leadership brings valuable expertise to the company. Their experience will be crucial in advancing the government’s goals, including total electrification and universal access to power and data by 2030. With these appointments, ZESA is poised to tackle the challenges ahead and work towards a brighter energy future for the nation.
