Miracle in the Skies: Helidrive Team Delivers Baby Mid-Air

In a heart-stopping, adrenaline-fueled drama, the Helidrive National Air Rescue Service team pulled off an incredible feat – delivering a baby mid-air!  A 13-year-old girl, airlifted from Maphisa Hospital, went into labor aboard the rescue chopper en route to United Bulawayo Hospitals (UBH). The medical team, led by Dr. Marshall Kahari, sprang into action, performing a high-risk delivery 1,000 feet above the ground.

With the baby in a footling breech position, the team didn’t hesitate. Dr. Kahari and the medical crew worked seamlessly to bring the baby boy into the world, amidst the turbulence of the helicopter. The crew was left in awe, celebrating a rare and miraculous moment in the skies.
