Manchester United flies to Asia on post-season tour

In less than 24 hours after their final Premier League game at Old Trafford, Manager Ruben Amorim picked 32 players for a trip to Malaysia for their two-match trip. Ruben Amorim’s side will take on ASEAN All Stars in Kuala Lumpur on 28 May before travelling to play Hong Kong two days later.

The Red Devils includes captain Bruno Fernandes, veteran midfielder Casemiro and winger Alejandro Garnacho who was left out of Sunday’s matchday squad against Villa.

Manchester United defeated Aston Villa 2-0 and become United’s 11th in the league win this season which led them to finish 15th, with 42 points, and is accepted to be the club’s worst campaign since the 1973-74 relegation season.

Amorim’s squad has a lot of inexperienced players who will be assessed before deciding the shape of his squad for next season. The squad includes Jaydan Kamason, Godwill Kukonki, Tyler Fletcher, Sekou Kone and Jack Moorhouse.

Amorim has previously defended the post-season trip, calling it a “small sacrifice” which allows the club to “make contact with our fans around the world.”
