A night out in Centenary took a grim turn when a heated dispute over beer ended with Richard Mondoza, 25, allegedly stabbing his friend Godfrey Machipisa, 38, in the neck. The violent incident happened on the evening of October 3 around 10:00 PM at a local bar.
Authorities are treating the case as attempted murder, with Acting Mashonaland Central police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Lucy Chigwenhese confirming the investigation is underway. “We are looking into the stabbing incident that occurred during a drinking session,” she stated.
Machipisa was rushed first to Centenary Clinic and then transferred to St Albert’s Hospital, where he remains in serious condition. Meanwhile, Mondoza is cooperating with police as they piece together what sparked the shocking altercation.
What started as a routine beer session turned into a nightmare, reminding us that sometimes tensions boil over faster than a freshly poured pint.
