Jabulani Moyo, a Zimbabwean Fugitive Causes Havoc in South Africa

Jabulani Moyo, a Zimbabwean fugitive wanted for killing two South African police detectives, Warrant Officer Vuyisile Sintwa and Sergeant Simon Masenye, is still on the run. Moyo escaped from custody on August 8, 2025, after allegedly shooting and killing the officers in Roodepoort, Gauteng, while being transported back to Boksburg prison.

A police operation in Cosmo City, Gauteng, resulted in a gunfight, leaving one suspect dead, but it’s unclear if Moyo was involved. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward, offering a R150,000 reward for his capture. Moyo is considered extremely dangerous and should not be approached .

The police have launched a massive manhunt, with the Hawks leading the investigation and gathering evidence from the magistrate’s court and a nearby filling station. The incident has raised concerns about police safety and security protocols for transporting high-risk prisoners .
