Hospital Investigates Disappearance of Infant’s Body

The body of eight-month-old Emmanuel Charindapanze went missing at a hospital after his mother, Shamiso Nyause, brought him for treatment. The hospital has launched an investigation into the disappearance.

According to Audrey Tasanarwo, the hospital’s public relations officer, standard procedures were followed when Emmanuel passed away. The nurse informed the doctor, who certified the death and completed necessary documentation. The nurse prepared the body for transfer to the mortuary, where the mortuary attendant took over.

Munashe Ganyiwa, a 32-year-old mortuary attendant, was arrested in connection with the disappearance. Contrary to initial reports, Ganyiwa is not a nurse. She was not on duty when the baby died but was assigned to prepare and send bodies for incineration on the day she came on duty.

Investigation Timeline
– The baby passed away on Saturday.
– Munashe Ganyiwa came on duty on Monday.
– The body went missing sometime between Saturday and Monday.

The hospital has instituted a board of inquiry to investigate the circumstances surrounding the disappearance. They are cooperating with the police and will provide updates as more information becomes available. The hospital appeals for accurate reporting and respect for the bereaved family’s privacy.

Shamiso Nyause and her husband, Givemore Charindapanze, are still searching for their child’s body. The family is understandably distraught, and the hospital’s investigation aims to bring clarity to the situation.

The incident has raised concerns about hospital protocols and accountability. The community is demanding answers and action to prevent similar incidents in the future.

The investigation is ongoing, and the hospital has promised to provide updates. The family and the public await answers and justice.
