Enchantress Natalie Mhandu’s Bewitchment Trial Delayed

In a courtroom drama tinged with mystique and suspense, Natalie “Enchantress” Mhandu, the socialite ensnared in a witchcraft accusation, will have to await her day in court a little longer.

The highly anticipated trial at Mbare Magistrates Court hit a snag on Wednesday when proceedings ground to a halt, leaving the courtroom buzzing with intrigue. Magistrate Sakhile Moyo decided to release Mhandu from remand, citing the prosecution’s unreadiness.

Crucial evidence remains elusive: the State still awaits a pivotal statement from ZINATHA and a cyber expert’s video report, both key to weaving the case’s narrative. The allegations paint a shadowy tale — Mhandu is accused of orchestrating a spellbinding scheme, enlisting her former maid, Elizabeth Mharire, to visit a traditional healer known as Christine Matashu or “Manjenjenje.” The trio’s journey from Glen View to Glen Norah, and finally to Churu Farm, was allegedly a prelude to a sinister enchantment aimed at Mhandu’s friend.

As the State hones its magical dossier, the courtroom will stand by, ready to summon the Enchantress once more — this time, when the spell of justice is fully cast.
