Controversial Prophet Quits Ministry Following Separation

Prophet Evidence Chari, founder of Grace Family International Church, has announced his immediate withdrawal from ministerial duties and social media, citing personal life developments, including his separation from wife Anesu.

In a statement, Chari expressed his inability to lead from a compromised position, saying, “I have made the decision to withdraw from my ministerial duties and social platforms with immediate effect.” He acknowledged the disappointment caused to followers and apologized, stating, “I recognise the disappointment this may have caused to those who trusted me as a leader or simply as a person. For that, I express my sincere regret” .

Chari will undergo reflection under senior church elders’ guidance, aiming to “confront what must be unlearn”. His platforms will remain inactive pending further notice.

Recent controversies surround Chari, including allegations of assault against Prophetess Haddasah Caroline and threats, leading to a warrant for his arrest in January 2024. Additionally, infidelity allegations involving business tycoon Wicknell Chivayo and Chari’s wife Anesu have been publicly exposed.
