Zimbabwean businessman Sir Wicknell Chivayo has once again made headlines, this time for an extravagant gesture that has set tongues wagging across the region. The flamboyant entrepreneur has reportedly purchased a Rolls-Royce for the renowned Prophet Uebert Angel, a Lexus GX550 valued at approximately US$210,000 for Prophetess Bebe Angel, and promised a Bentley for their son, Prophet Seer Angel.
Chivayo has directed Prophet Angel to visit the Rolls-Royce dealership “Daytona” in South Africa, where he is to meet with Anna to select and customize any latest 2025 Rolls-Royce model with bespoke color, interior, and design. According to Chivayo, payment will be processed within 48 hours, with production and delivery slated for December 2025. “You are a man of fine taste and on this special occasion, you deserve the finest things that life can offer,” Chivayo reportedly declared.
This isn’t the first time Sir Wicknell has showered luxury cars on spiritual leaders and other notable personalities. Research indicates that over the last five years, Chivayo has gifted upwards of 20 luxury vehicles, including Bentleys, Range Rovers, and Rolls-Royces, to various figures in Zimbabwe and beyond. Estimates suggest he has spent more than US$10 million on these lavish giveaways, often accompanied by public fanfare and grand proclamations of blessings and divine favor.
However, these flashy displays come amid swirling allegations of corruption and misappropriation of government funds. Critics argue that Chivayo’s wealth and generosity stem from controversial government contracts awarded during previous administrations, some of which are under investigation for irregularities. The juxtaposition of multi-million dollar luxury gifts with the economic hardships faced by many Zimbabweans has sparked outrage on social media, with some dubbing the events a “luxury prophecy circus.”
Prophet Uebert Angel himself is no stranger to headlines, known as the “master of forensic prophecy” and a pivotal figure in Zimbabwe’s spiritual landscape since the early 2000s. Once a successful banker in the UK with impressive academic credentials, Angel chose to follow his spiritual calling, founding the influential Spirit Embassy ministry alongside his wife, Prophetess Beverly Angel. Their ministry reportedly continues to transform lives globally, attracting large followings and significant donations.
In a statement, Chivayo praised Prophet Angel as “an anointed man who reshaped the religious landscape of Zimbabwe and beyond,” highlighting his spiritual and literal ambassadorship. Meanwhile, the Lexus gifted to Prophetess Bebe Angel is to be collected from Victor, a detail that has left some puzzled and amused by the cryptic logistics of the gifting process.
As Sir Wicknell’s luxury spree continues, many are left wondering whether the spectacle is a genuine blessing or a dazzling distraction from deeper issues of governance and accountability in Zimbabwe. Either way, the bizarre saga of cars, prophets, and controversy shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
