Meanwhile in South Africa , Hope Shongwe, a 26-year-old finance clerk at Inxiweni Primary School in Tembisa, South Africa, has been arrested and charged with the murder of two school staff members, principal Nozibele Tabu (58) and administrative assistant Nobantu Njomboni (55). The victims were gunned down inside the school’s administration block on November 18, 2025.
Shongwe allegedly orchestrated the killings after the victims discovered she was embezzling school funds. She reportedly hired hitmen to silence them, fearing they would expose her financial misdeeds. One suspect has been arrested alongside Shongwe .
The motive behind the killings appears to be linked to Shongwe’s alleged theft of R52,000 from the school. Authorities found a substantial amount of cash and incriminating transaction records from the school’s account to Shongwe’s personal banking account.
The community is in shock, mourning the loss of the two educators who were respected for their dedication to the school. The Gauteng Department of Education has deployed trauma counselors to support learners and staff affected by the incident.
Shongwe is set to appear before the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court.
