VP Chiwenga Attends Ceremony in Full Military Dress
Vice President Constantino Chiwenga attended the handover ceremony dressed in full army uniform. He led the procession with confidence, signalling the significance of the moment. His attire included medals, badges, ceremonial cords, and a green tunic representing honours from his service days.
He also wore white gloves, a decorated sash, polished black boots, and a peaked cap bearing the Defence Forces emblem. Senior officers marched behind him during the parade, while Chiwenga maintained a composed, focused expression. The event marked the official transfer of command from General Sibanda to General Matutu.
Chiwenga’s appearance symbolised unity within the security forces and respect for military tradition. It emphasised continuity and stability as leadership changed hands. For many, his presence echoed his past role as a General and reflected values of loyalty, service, and national duty.
