U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced the arrest of Lloyd Tinashe Hwehwe, a Zimbabwean national, on August 19. The arrest was carried out by ICE’s Houston field office. Hwehwe had been convicted of intoxicated manslaughter, a second-degree felony in Texas, in Dallas County. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison for the offense.

The arrest was part of ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) efforts to target noncitizens with criminal convictions who may pose a risk to public safety. ICE officials emphasize focusing on individuals with such convictions.
