Harare Man Arrested for Attempting to Sell Human Fetus as Beef

A 19-year-old man in Harare, Zimbabwe, has been arrested for allegedly attempting to sell a human fetus as beef to an unsuspecting passerby. According to the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP), the suspect, Stelly Marecha, picked up the fetus from a bin in the city center and approached a 27-year-old man, offering it for sale.

The incident occurred on July 4 in the city center, and Marecha was immediately arrested and charged with violating a corpse, a criminal offense under Zimbabwean law. The ZRP national spokesperson, Commissioner Paul Nyathi, condemned the act, stating that such crimes not only violate public decency but also highlight deeper social and psychological issues that need to be addressed.

The ZRP is appealing for information that may lead to the identification and arrest of the individual who dumped the fetus. Authorities are treating the matter with urgency, urging anyone with leads to come forward. The incident has sent shockwaves across the capital, with citizens expressing horror at the macabre nature of the act.
