Danger Alert – Ozempic “Skinny Jab” Sold Illegally

The Medicines Control Authority Zimbabwe (MCAZ) and Health Professions Authority Zimbabwe (HPA) have issued a warning about the illicit sale and use of Ozempic, a prescription medication primarily intended for type 2 diabetes treatment. Unfortunately, it’s being misused for weight loss, posing significant health risks.

The risks associated with self-medicating Ozempic are serious and potentially life-threatening. People are buying it from unverified sources online, on social media, or from unlicensed sellers, which can lead to severe consequences.

To stay safe, MCAZ and HPA advise the public to only buy medicines from authorized sources and seek medical advice from registered professionals. It’s also crucial to check for valid practicing certificates, HPA licenses, and MCAZ licenses.

Selling prescription medicines without authorization is a crime, and MCAZ and HPA are warning the public about the dangers of Ozempic misuse and the legal consequences of buying from unauthorized sources.
