A Bulawayo fast-food outlet temporarily closed its doors on Monday morning after a customer died unexpectedly while waiting for his meal.
Authorities have not yet released the man’s name or age. He reportedly collapsed inside the establishment.
Customer Collapses Inside the Outlet
Witnesses told The Chronicle that the man had been seated as he waited for his order when he suddenly leaned over and became unresponsive.
Another customer noticed his unusual posture and alerted the staff. Emergency responders were called, but they confirmed that the man had already passed away.
Police Secure the Scene
Detectives from the CID Homicide unit attended the location to conduct preliminary checks and assess the circumstances surrounding the death.
By around 9:45 AM, the man’s body was still inside the outlet, although customers were still being served through the main entrance.
Investigations Continue
Police are yet to provide details on what may have caused the death, but an official statement is expected soon.
The restaurant has been temporarily closed as part of the ongoing inquiry.
Although unverified, early reports suggest the incident may have taken place at a Chicken Inn branch.
