Bed Bugs and Stubborn Residents: A Winning Combo

Harare City Council is facing resistance from some Mbare flats residents who are refusing to let health workers fumigate their premises against bed bugs.

The Council’s Plea (with a hint of desperation). The City of Harare took to Facebook to urge residents to cooperate, warning that refusal might lead to enforcement measures, including police involvement and potential lease cancellations. One can almost hear the council’s sigh of frustration.

Prioritizing Health (and a good night’s sleep). The council’s concern for residents’ health is admirable, but one wonders what drives this resistance. Are residents unaware of the risks or just fond of unwanted guests?

Lease cancellation and police involvement might be the ultimate persuaders. Let’s hope residents see reason before things escalate.
