The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) has formed a Coaches Committee, essentially a dream team of local football brains, to help the Zimbabwe Men’s National Football Team (the Warriors) identify and nurture local talent. Because, let’s be real, they need all the help they can get.
The committee, comprising Joel Luphahla, Tonderai Ndiraya, and Joey Antipas, was elected by Premier Soccer League (PSL) coaches in a vote that’s probably more competitive than the actual football matches. Their mission? To act as a liaison between PSL coaches and the senior national team coach, because apparently, they weren’t talking enough already.
Led by Coach Marian Marinaca, this initiative aims to bring some much-needed unity and collaboration to the domestic coaching fraternity. It’s about time someone got them to work together , maybe they’ll finally start producing football that’s worth watching.
ZIFA is optimistic about the committee’s potential impact, citing its commitment to inclusive technical development and stronger cooperation between the PSL and national football structures. Here’s hoping this is the magic formula that’ll take the Warriors to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and beyond.
