A harrowing incident unfolded at a rail crossing in Kadoma last night when a sand-laden lorry careened out of control and slammed into a passing train. The drama played out at around 11:50 PM, with eyewitnesses recounting how the driver and his passenger made a split-second decision to jump to safety just before the collision.
The impact was severe, with the lorry crashing into the last two wagons of the train. Miraculously, the two men escaped with relatively minor injuries and were discharged from the hospital after receiving treatment.
While the exact cause of the incident is still under investigation, it’s believed that the lorry driver lost control as he approached the crossing.
