Tottenham are advancing well on Thomas Frank appointment as new head coach after Ange Postecoglou was brutally sacked on Friday.
Winning the Europa League was not enough for the Australian and ultimately it was Spurs’ atrocious Premier League form that cost him his job. “The board has unanimously concluded that it is in the best interests of the club for a change to take place,” Tottenham said in a statement.
Romano confirmed that Spurs are advancing well on Thomas Frank as the replacement of Ange Postecoglou.
” Tottenham are advancing well on Thomas Frank appointment as new head coach with more talks to follow next week.
Club optimistic to make it happen soon,” the statement reads.
Spurs finished the Premier League season just one place above the relegation zone after a record-worst 22 defeats. Postecoglou had made the decision, midway through the season, with no threat of relegation and no hope of finishing in the European places, to focus on the Europa League, and it paid off.
Frank will now be tasked with taking the reins – if he is the one to get the nod as he is the overwhelming favourite with the bookmakers to arrive in N17.
Tottenham officials have reportedly held talks with the Dane, who has spent the last seven years with Brentford, turning the Bees into an established Premier League outfit.
