**State Slaps More Charges on Guruve Murder Suspect as Court Hears Fresh Allegations**
The State has expanded charges against suspected Guruve serial offender Anymore Zvitsva after prosecutors presented additional allegations during his court appearance on Tuesday.
Zvitsva appeared before Harare magistrate Ruth Moyo after being transferred from Parirenyatwa Hospital to remand prison. His initial court appearance had been conducted at his hospital bedside due to his medical condition.
According to prosecutors, one of the new charges relates to an incident alleged to have occurred on March 25 last year at Plot 43 Nyakanupu in Guruve. Zvitsva is accused of going to the residence of the late Charity Chidhawu, who was at home with her daughter and two-year-old son. The State alleges that he forced the mother and child into a nearby mountainous area, where Chidhawu was killed and later concealed in a shallow grave. The toddler was also allegedly killed and buried separately.
In another case, the court heard that on September 24 last year, Zvitsva allegedly encountered Tariro Gotora while she was herding cattle along the Hunyani River in Chiwe Village, Raffingora, with a toddler on her back. Prosecutors allege that the child was thrown into a river under threat, after which Gotora was taken into nearby bushes where she was sexually assaulted. The State further alleges she was later strangled and thrown into the river.
Additional allegations relate to an incident on October 9 involving Providence Maruza, 27, of Ditwi Village, Chiwe Farm, Raffingora. The State claims Zvitsva gained entry into her home, restrained her and sexually assaulted her before stabbing her and fleeing the scene.
On October 27, Zvitsva is also accused of attacking Reginet Sango, 62, at Mudhindo Village under Chief Bepura in Kachuta, Guruve. Prosecutors allege that Sango was assaulted, sexually violated and left unconscious after attempting to flee.
The court further heard that on the same day, Zvitsva allegedly attacked Brian Ngoshi while he was walking home from Kachuta Business Centre. The State claims Ngoshi was assaulted, strangled until he lost consciousness and robbed of personal belongings before being left at the scene.
Zvitsva was remanded in custody to February 3 and was advised to apply to the High Court should he wish to pursue bail.
