Antoine Semenyo delivered a dramatic late winner in what is expected to be his final appearance for Bournemouth, as the Cherries edged Tottenham Hotspur 3-2 in a thrilling Premier League encounter at the Vitality Stadium.
With the match locked at 2-2 deep into stoppage time, Semenyo — who is widely reported to be closing in on a move to Manchester City — unleashed a stunning long-range strike to beat goalkeeper Djordje Petrović and seal a memorable victory. The goal brought an end to Bournemouth’s 11-game winless streak in emphatic fashion.
Tottenham had made a dream start, taking the lead inside five minutes through Mathys Tel. The French winger collected a clever backheel from the returning Xavi Simons near the left touchline, surged past James Hill and calmly slotted the ball into the bottom corner.
However, Spurs’ advantage lasted just 17 minutes. Bournemouth responded when Evanilson rose highest to head home a Marcus Tavernier cross, reigniting the home crowd.
The hosts completed the turnaround in the 36th minute after Tavernier again found space on the right. His delivery was cut back by Marcos Senesi for Eli Junior Kroupi, who finished confidently to net his seventh league goal of the season.
After the break, Tottenham pushed for an equaliser. Substitute Richarlison came close when his header struck the woodwork from a corner. Spurs were briefly awarded a penalty following a powerful run by Micky van de Ven from his own half, but VAR overturned the decision, ruling James Hill’s contact insufficient.
Tottenham eventually drew level in the 78th minute when Senesi’s defensive header from a corner fell kindly to João Palhinha, who produced a spectacular overhead kick to make it 2-2.
Just as the game appeared destined for a draw, Semenyo produced a moment of magic in the 95th minute, curling home a sensational winner that sent the Vitality Stadium into raptures.
The victory lifts Bournemouth to 27 points from 21 matches — their sixth Premier League win of the season — leaving them just one point behind Tottenham and giving their fans a night to remember, capped by an emotional farewell from Semenyo.
