### Premier League International Break Could Shape Title Race, European Spots And Relegation Battle
The Premier League will pause for nearly three weeks as international fixtures take priority, leaving clubs with time to regroup before domestic action resumes in April.
With FA Cup quarter-finals scheduled in early April, league matches will not return until **10 April**, giving teams a significant break during a crucial stage of the season.
#### Title race: Arsenal under pressure to respond
League leaders **Arsenal** head into the international break in a strong position, sitting nine points ahead of **Manchester City**, although they have played one game more.
However, the timing of the break comes shortly after Arsenal’s defeat to City in the League Cup final. Their next league match is against **Bournemouth on 11 April**, meaning they have time to reflect on the loss before returning to domestic action.
Arsenal will still have important fixtures during the break, including an **FA Cup quarter-final against Southampton** and a **Champions League quarter-final clash with Sporting**.
Former Newcastle goalkeeper **Tim Krul** said the coming weeks will test Arsenal’s mentality after falling short of silverware.
#### Champions League race: Liverpool and Chelsea searching for momentum
Behind the title contenders, the battle for Champions League qualification remains intense.
**Liverpool** currently sit fifth after a defeat to **Brighton**, leaving them five points behind **Aston Villa**, who occupy the final Champions League spot.
Meanwhile, **Chelsea** are struggling for form after losing four consecutive matches across all competitions. Head coach **Liam Rosenior** believes the international break could give his players a chance to reset and refocus before the final stretch of the season.
Despite their struggles, there is optimism for both clubs as **fifth place could once again secure Champions League qualification**.
#### Race for other European places
Outside the top four, the fight for European football is equally competitive.
**Brentford**, currently seventh, and **Everton**, in eighth, are among the clubs hoping to secure a place in Europe next season.
Everton’s convincing **3-0 victory over Chelsea** boosted their confidence, while **Brighton’s win over Liverpool** has also strengthened their hopes of finishing higher up the table.
**Sunderland** are another team gaining momentum after a dramatic derby victory over **Newcastle**, moving ahead of their rivals in the race for European places.
#### Relegation battle intensifies
At the bottom of the table, the fight to avoid relegation is becoming increasingly tense.
**Tottenham Hotspur** are enduring a difficult season and remain without a league victory in 2026. Their recent **3-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest** has increased pressure on manager **Igor Tudor**.
Historically, only three teams have gone longer without a win and avoided relegation, highlighting the challenge Tottenham now face.
Forest, meanwhile, boosted their survival hopes with the win, while **West Ham** remain in the relegation zone after a **2-0 defeat to Aston Villa**.
Manager **Nuno Espirito Santo** admitted his team must improve if they want to escape the drop before the season concludes.
As the international break begins, teams across the Premier League will use the pause to regroup before the decisive final weeks of the campaign.
