A fierce legal battle has erupted over the estate of the late Zanu-PF legislator Farai Taruvinga, with allegations of multiple wives and hidden assets. Amanda Falala, one of the widows and the court-appointed executor, is facing opposition from Nontokozo Moyo, who claims to be Taruvinga’s fourth wife.

The drama unfolds as Moyo accuses Falala of concealing her and another woman, Nokukhanya Sibanda, from official records to disinherit them. Falala denies the allegations, claiming Moyo was just a nurse aide and not a wife. The court will decide the validity of the executor appointment and Moyo’s claims.

Taruvinga’s estate includes a house in Bulawayo’s Hillside suburb, a fleet of 15 vehicles (including a , and 32 head of cattle. The late MP reportedly fathered 12 children and owned a gold mine, two nightclubs, and a modern abattoir. Who knew being a politician was so lucrative?

The case has sparked interest in Zimbabwe’s customary marriage laws and estate administration. Will Moyo’s claims be recognized, or will Falala remain the executor? The High Court’s decision will set a significant precedent. Stay tuned for more updates on this juicy saga!
