An armed robbery occurred at a primary school in Chitungwiza’s Zengeza 4 suburb in the early hours of May 16, according to police.

Unnamed sources say six male suspects armed with a pistol attacked two security guards at the school around 12:48 a.m. The robbers reportedly stole a shotgun and an unknown number of 303 rifle rounds from the scene.

Some items were recovered later, including a bolt cutter, grinding discs, an iron bar and a black satchel. However, police did not provide details about any injuries sustained during the incident or whether the suspects have been identified.

In a tweet, the Zimbabwe Republic Police confirmed they are investigating the robbery at the Chitungwiza school but provided no further information.
