Zimbabwean musician Garry Mapanzure, born Garikai Munashe Mapanzure, has passed away due to a road traffic accident on the Beitbridge-Masvingo Highway in Masvingo. The collision occurred when a vehicle turning into Clipsham Views residential area collided with another vehicle from Beitbridge.

Mapanzure was a passenger in his sister's over speeding car, and tragically, his nephew lost his life instantly. Mapanzure suffered critical injuries and later succumbed to them.

The accident also claimed the life of Langton Madima, a student and President of the GZU Students Representative Council. Disturbing images show the severely damaged maroon Madza Demio, while the other vehicle involved was found further along the road.

Zimbabwean figureheads like Fadzayi Mahere have sent their condolences message to Mapanzure family.
