Erik Ten Hag Speaks Ahead Of Brentford Trip

Following a humiliating defeat against Brighton and Hove Albion, Erik Ten Hag will take a trip to Brentford for his second assignment of the season.

Manchester United kicked off the 2022/23 season with a 2-1 loss at Old Trafford and today, the Red Devils will be looking to collect maximum points against Brentford. The kick-off is pegged at 18:30hrs, Gtech Community Stadium.

Speaking ahead of the match, Erik Ten Hag said he is aware of how Brentford plays but his squad should play better to win the game.

They are a physical, strong team, well organized, play direct, so we will have to be good,” said the Man United coach.

Erik Ten Hag’s Comment on Eriksen

Last game, Erik Ten Hag shocked many fans by deploying Christian Eriksen on the false-nine position. Eriksen struggled to find rhythm until he was drawn back into the midfield. Today, it is speculated that Ten Hag will start Eriksen in midfield against his former club.

Christian is a multifunctional player who can impact different areas of the game. So, he can play more deep, but also really high and in both, he can have a good impact, which is what I expect from him.”

Man United predicted starting XI against Brentford

Manchester United will face Brentford and the notable absentees include Victor Lindelof and Anthony Martial.

However, in the last game,  Cristiano Ronaldo didn’t start and today it looks like Erik Ten Hag is ready to unleash Ronaldo in his starting lineup.

He had a good training week, I thought he played a little bit longer than half an hour [against Brighton], I would say he now has two half games. The starting XI, we will see tomorrow. I, of course, have made my decision but I [will] keep it, said Ten Hag after commenting on Ronaldo’s situation.

Manchester United predicted XI: De Gea; Dalot, Martinez, Maguire, Shaw; Fred, McTominay; Rashford, Fernandes, Sancho; Ronaldo.
