Chelsea In Pursuit Of Bracelona Striker As Timo Werner Completes Leipzig Move?

 Chelsea has been tipped  to sign a new striker from Barcelona following Timo Werner’s switch to Leipzig.

Timo Werner sealed his transfer move back to his former home after an embarrassing stint with the Blues.

The German forward joined Chelsea two years back after an impressive season with Leipzig. Werner in his final season with Leipzig netted 34 goals from 45 matches.

This prompted Chelsea to lure him to Stamford Bridge. However, it turned out to be a nightmare for Werner who failed to live up to the expectations of many. At Chelsea, he only scored 23 goals from 89 matches. 

Timo Werner’s Farewell Message To Chelsea

Timo penned an emotional farewell message to Chelsea as he completed his £25 million switch to his former home, Leipzig.

The German international thanked the club and fans for supporting him through his stint with the club.

“Dear Blues, Today marks the end of my journey with Chelsea FC,’ the German forward wrote on social media. ‘I am incredibly grateful for the time I spent at this special club. 

“At this point I would like to express my appreciation for my teammates, the coaches & staff, and especially for you, the special supporters of Chelsea Football Club. 

‘” I felt so much love and support throughout the last two years and I will never forget how you guys stood behind me in good and challenging times!

“We lifted trophies like the Champions League together and I will always remember the song you wrote and chanted for me. I’m already looking forward to hopefully playing at Stamford Bridge again one day!

Who is set to replace Timo Werner

Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang has been touted as a perfect replacement for Timo Werner.

The former Arsenal player is deemed a perfect replacement for Werner due to his vast experience in the Premier League.

“Aubameyang would be perfect for Chelsea. He looks happy and back to his best scoring goals,” said former Chelsea legend Gustavo Poyet..

Currently, it is not yet clear whether Chelsea will pursue Aubameyang.
