A Harare court on Monday deferred the fake Covid-19 certificates trial involving contemporary musicians ExQ and Nutty O to allow the State to carry out extra territorial investigations.
The National Prosecuting Authority represented by Anesu Chirenge had requested for a postponement of the matter.
Chirenje told the court that the State needs to carry out extra territorial investigations as a follow up to recorded statements from the ministry of Health officials.
The matter was postponed to November 17 but not before the defense counsel made notice to apply for refusal of further remand should the State not be prepared to proceed with trial on the postponed date.
The musicians were in court accused of tendering fake Covid-19 certificates at the Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport on June 8 upon their return from a gig in South Africa.
Upon their arrest, ExQ, real name Enock Munhenga and Nutty O, real name Carrington Simbarashe Chiwadzwa, spent the weekend behind bars after the presiding magistrate postponed their bail hearing to the following Monday.
