Here is the Coronavirus/ COVID-19 Situation Report or Update for Zimbabwe by the Ministry of Health and Child Care (MoHCC) on 17 December 2021:
- 3 263 New Cases (All local) and 8 Deaths were reported today. (7-day rolling average* for new cases goes down to 3 938 from 4 355 (yesterday).
- Vaccination Update: 15 454 received the 1st dose today bringing cumulative for 1st dose to 4 038 467 while 18 463 received their 2nd dose bringing cumulative for 2nd dose to 3 053 655 as at 1600 hrs.
- As of 16 December 2021, 01500hrs there were 358 hospitalised cases: New Admissions (55), Asymptomatic 26, mild to moderate 292, severe 36 and 4 in Intensive Care Units.
- 9 483 tests done today (Positivity today was 34.4%)
- 1 944 new recoveries: National Recovery rate falls to 71% & Active cases go up 50 707.
- As of today, Zimbabwe has recorded 189 567 Cases 134 081 recoveries & 4 779 Deaths.
