Woman dies in hubby’s hands shortly after arriving from SA. The woman, Sifelani Nkala (51), travelled from South Africa to Bulawayo by Eagle Liner bus with her husband Charles Nkala (58) and was complaining of aching knees.
A woman who was fighting for her breath and feeling sharp pain in her knees died in the hands of her husband at a garage in the early hours of the morning yesterday. It is said Sifelani’s health problem escalated along the way as she told her husband that she had difficulties in breathing and was choking.
When they arrived at Eagle Liner garage in Bulawayo before 4am her health situation worsened as she felt dizzy and breathed with difficulty, said a source at the Eagle Liner garage.
Her husband with the aid of other passengers lifted her from the bus seat and placed her on a chair. While her husband was giving her water and holding her, she tragically breathed her last in his hands, the source added.
The devastated and gutted Charles reported the matter at Mzilikazi police station. His wife’s body was ferried to the United Bulawayo Hospitals (UBH) for post–mortem. Bulawayo police spokesperson Inspector Abednico Ncube confirmed the incident.
